Hey America! Vacation in Turkey!!

I have been noticing a large number of television advertisements for Turkish tourism of late.

Now I realize that between the war, the ongoing white house scandals, and the feeling that we, as Americans, aren't as well liked around the world as we used to be definitely makes the idea of a vacation sound oh so inviting, but they must think we are worse at geography than we really are... oh wait... we are that bad? OK, before you book your reservations, allow me to give you a brief lesson on Turkey.

1. Turkey is located in the Middle East. For those of you that don't know, the US is currently involved in a couple of armed conflicts in the area. It's OK though, according to our President major combat operations ended in Iraq years ago. Here is a map of the region:
2. Americans don't blend in. We lack the natural camouflage afforded the rest of the world such as being multi-lingual, using tact and diplomacy, and not wearing clothing or accessories that clearly identifies you as an American. Therefore we make pretty easy targets.

3. It's hard to find mac & cheese or hot dogs in Turkey. But with our troops located just across the border in Iraq that may become easier in time. After all, they won't be leaving any time soon!!

I hope you learned something from this... and if you would like a suggestion for a better vacation spot, I like Arkansas! Great outdoors activities, lots of friendly people who speak English and best of all mac & cheese is a staple!

Got any ideas?

I'm always trying to keep up on the news of the day so that I won't miss the next big T-shirt idea but I can't be everywhere at once. So I am asking all who read this to tell me what you want to see on a t-shirt. Anything at all... the more insane the better!! Now there are some basic rules... I can't print porn, actual dead people, copyrighted material or logos or likenesses of bands/celebs and stuff like that... but just about anything else I will consider. And here's the best part... if I make the shirt from your idea you get one FREE!

So get sendin and I'll get designin!!

I've got my new website online and I am really excited but also apprehensive. I have started to direct my advertising links to my website instead of my cafepress shop directly. I think in the short term it may cost me some sales as the site isn't extremely dynamic and there isn't much there yet to keep people coming back. But the long term goal is to raise my sites ranking through increased traffic.

This month was our first T-shirt give away and my friend Ana won! Her chances were pretty good though... she was one of two subscribers...

I plan to start a Google AdWords campaign in the near future. I need to figure out a budget and go from there.

I will be linking this blog to the site soon!

Bush donde esta?

Click the pic to see George get his grove on!

I saw this clip on the Daily Show the other night and I knew I had to find it and make a GIF.
It was quite an ordeal to even make the thing. I'll spare you all the details but it probably took about 3 hours all together to get it to where I thought it was acceptable for a first run. My girlfriend (a Bush supporter) asked me why I spent so much time and energy on making fun of a man I dislike. I think this speaks for itself... hes an easy target. I'm actually going to miss him being in the White house when he leaves. Not because of his abilities or the job hes done, but because of the comedy that came from this administration. Forget the corruption, the cover ups, the lies... I laughed during Clinton's time in office too, but nothing like I have laughed at GWB.

Like it says... Gimpin ain't easy

I'm just getting this thing started... got lots on my plate that I want to share so bear with me during this phase of adjustment.

Here's a bit about me to get it going;

I'm a 37 year old diabetic amputee. I lost most of my right foot after a series of bad things got worse. In the last 4 years I have taken a journey through our public health system that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, given up cigarettes and alcohol cold turkey (I had a real problem with drinking), lost my career and ability to support myself and have now begun to build a small business. For all the trials and stress I have actually discovered a sense of inner peace; I realize that the things I thought were important really weren't. I hope that through this blog I can share what I've learned so that someone who may be dealing with a similar issue can avoid my pitfalls and possibly live a better life. If one person benefits from this then it was more than worth it!

For now it is late, I am tired and the comedians on TV seem interesting so I'm off.
