I have actually seen another shirt that was called "iPoor" but I thought the design was lame. It had iPod control buttons and what is supposed to be earbud cords running up to either side of the neck. My GF actually planted the seed on this one. And after I checked and found out that yes they do indeed still sell portable cassette players it was on...
I have been noticing a large number of televisionadvertisements for Turkish tourism of late.
Now I realize that between the war, the ongoing white house scandals, and the feeling that we, as Americans, aren't as well liked around the world as we used to be definitely makes the idea of a vacation sound oh so inviting, but they must think we are worse at geography than we really are... oh wait... we are that bad? OK, before you book your reservations, allow me to give you a brief lesson on Turkey.
1. Turkey is located in the Middle East. For those of you that don't know, the US is currently involved in a couple of armed conflicts in the area. It's OK though, according to our President major combat operations ended in Iraq years ago. Here is a map of the region: 2. Americans don't blend in. We lack the natural camouflage afforded the rest of the world such as being multi-lingual, using tact and diplomacy, and not wearing clothing or accessories that clearly identifies you as an American. Therefore we make pretty easy targets.
3. It's hard to find mac & cheese or hot dogs in Turkey. But with our troops located just across the border in Iraq that may become easier in time. After all, they won't be leaving any time soon!!
I hope you learned something from this... and if you would like a suggestion for a better vacation spot, I like Arkansas! Great outdoors activities, lots of friendly people who speak English and best of all mac & cheese is a staple!
I became disabled in 2004 after a bone infection forced the amputation of most of my right foot. Then in 2008 I lost the rest of my leg below the knee when an infection was misdiagnosed by my doctor after repeated visits. Since then my life has revolved around meeting my basic needs, which are complicated by my ever changing medical issues. Lately however my life is getting better. I just want people to learn from my mistakes and triumphs and apply the lessons to improving their own lives.
